HomeMy WebLinkAbout13869 ORD - 08/03/1977jkh:8 -3 -77; lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ASSOCIATED ARCHITECTS OF SWANSON, HEISTER, WILSON & CLAYCOMB (FORMERLY SWANSON, HEISTER, WILSON & BOLAND), (SHWC, INC.) & CAUDILL ROWLETT SCOTT, OF HOUSTON, TEXAS, TO PROCEED WITH THE GENERAL WORKING DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE COMMUNITY CONVEN- IION CENTER; APPROPRIATING $556,602.89 OUT OF THE NO. 209 COMMUNITY CONVENTION FACILITY BOND FUND, APPLICABLE TO NO. 209- 76 -1.2, TO SUPPLEMENT FUNDS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 13293 FOR ARCHITECTURAL FEES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. • - BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given -for the Associated Architects of Swanson, Heister, Wilson & tlaycomb (formerly Swanson, Heister, Wilson & Boland), (SHWC, Inc.) & Caudill Rowlett Scott, of Houston, Texas to'proceed with the general working drawings and specifications for the Community Convention Center. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 209 Community Convention Facility Bond Fund the sum of $556,602.89, applicable r to Project No. 209- 76 -1.2, to supplement funds previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 13293 for architectural fees. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize the Associated Architects to proceed with general working drawings and specifications for the Community " Convention Center and to provide sufficient °funds therefor creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the•Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this JA.,- day of August, 1977.
