HomeMy WebLinkAbout13870 ORD - 08/10/1977L JKR:vmr:7- 26- 77;lst AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION TO BE NUMBERED AND ENTITLED SEC. 2 -97 LIBRARY - FEES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus S ' Christi, 1976 Revision, be and the same is hereby amended by adding a new section, to be numbered and entitled Section 2 -97 Library Fees, to here- after read as follows: ,. "Sec. 2 -97 Library - Fees._ Overdue Fees *Each book, phonodisc (records), vertical file item f and document (per day )----------------------- - - - -03 - *Each art print, 8mm film, media kit, and A -V equipment other than 16mm projector (per day)--- - - - -25 Maximum overdue fee---------------------------- - - -1/2 price of item *Overdue fees will be charged beginning on the fourth day of each item being overdue. Other Fees Lost material charges------------------------- - -- - -- current list price of the item Fee card (non - resident family) (per year) ----------- 5.00 Duplicate borrower's card (each)-------------- - - - - -- -50 Transaction or book card (each)-----------=---- - - - - -- -25 Signature card' (each)--' =----- - - - - -- -10 Reader — Printer (each copy) -------------------- - - - - -- .10 Charge for damaged item - actual repair cost (minimum each) --- -- ------ ---- ------------- -- -- -- -50 Reservation (per item )--------------------- - - - - -- -10." SECTION 2. The first thirty days after this ordinance becomes effective there shall be an amnesty period whereby all overdue or noncheck -out library materials may be'returned without payment of overdue fees and records of such shall be cleared. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 5. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption of this ordinance stating in substance the purpose of this ordinance.
