HomeMy WebLinkAbout13872 ORD - 08/10/1977jkh:7- 26 -77; 1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CONTRACT WITH THE CORPUS CHRISTI TOURIST BUREAU FOR TOURIST AND CONVENTION ADVERTISING AND PRO- MOTION AS AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 11999, PASSED ON APRIL 10, 1974, BY AMENDING THE SECOND SENTENCE OF PARAGRAPH B, SECTION 1 OF THE CONTRACT TO HEREAFTER PROVIDE THAT THE CITY SHALL APPROPRIATE FOR THE PERIODIC FUNDING OF THE CONTRACT AN AMOUNT AS PROVIDED FOR IN THE CITY'S ANNUAL BUDGET. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the contract with the Corpus Christi Tourist Bureau for tourist and convention advertising and promotion, as authorized by Ordinance No. 11999, passed and approved by the City Council on April 10, 1974, be and the same is hereby amended by amending the second sentence of Paragraph B, Section 1 of the contract to hereafter provide as follows: "Thereafter and for the balance of the term of this contract, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi shall-endeavor to appropriate for the periodic funding of this contract an amount as provided for in the City's annual budget." SECTION 2. Except as herein and hereby amended, the terms, conditions and covenants of Ordinance No. 11999 shall be and remain in full force and effect. MICROFILMED JUL 0 7 wo jr 138'72 • 4 AGREEMENT THE STATE OF TEXAS k COUNTY OF NUECES WHEREAS, the City of Corpus Christi, a municipal corporation and body politic under the laws of the State of Texas, hereinafter called "City ", and the Corpus Christi Area Convention and Tourist Bureau, hereinafter called "Tourist Bureau ", entered into a contract pursuant to the authority of Ordinance No. 11999, passed and approved by the City Council on April 10, 1974, for the purpose of tourist and convention promotion and to assist in creating conditions to encourage the return of tourists; and WHEREAS, it is mutually agreeable to the parties to the aforesaid contract to amend said contract in the following particulars: 1. That Paragraph B, Section 1 of the contract be amended by amending the second sentence to hereafter read as follows: "Thereafter and for the balance of the term of this contract, the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi shall endeavor to appropriate for the periodic funding of this contract an amount as provided for in the City's annual budget." All other terms and conditions of the existing contract shall be and remain unchanged. WHEREFORE, WITNESS OUR HANDS binding the respective parties this the day of 1977.
