HomeMy WebLinkAbout13884 ORD - 08/10/1977JKH:vmr:8- 10- 77;1st AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $11,178,866 OUT OF THE NO. 202, CHOKE CANYON RESERVOIR CONSTRUCTION FUND, FOR PAYMENTS TO THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF RECLAZgA- TION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CHOKE CANYON DAM AND RESERVOIR; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated and reappropriated the sum of $11,178.866 out of the NO. 202, Choke Canyon Reservoir Construe- tion Fund, for payments to the United States Bureau of Reclamation for the construction of Choke Canyon Dam and Reservoir, the said appropriation being composed of $3,086,099 transferred from the Water Debt'Service Reserves; $7,105,000 from the last Junior Lien Bond Sale; and $987,767 from the interest earnings through July 31, 1977, said appropriation of $11,178,866 includes $4,187,000 previously appropriated and paid to the Bureau of Reclamation and $17,386 appropriated for bond sale expense. SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate and reappropriate the sums, hereinabove set forth in order that the Choke Canyon Dam and Reservoir Pro - eject may continue without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings - of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity ' to exist, and having- requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY, SO ORDAINED, this the /O day of August, 1977.
