HomeMy WebLinkAbout13891 ORD - 08/17/1977Ovp:8 /15/77:1st s , TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT MODIFICATION BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON THE AGING PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN FUNDING TO $140,000 AND INCREASING THE PART -TIME JOBS FOR THE ELDERLY TO 52, ALL AS'MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE CONTRACT MODIFICATION, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED "EXHIBIT A "; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL OTHER RELATED CON- TRACTS, MODIFICATIONS, EXTENSIONS, RENEWALS, OR OTHER DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED IN THE IMPLEMENTATION AND CONTINUATION OF THE AFORESAID PROGRAM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract modification between the City of Corpus Christi and the National Council on the Aging providing for an increase in funding to $140,000 and increasing the part -time jobs for the elderly to 52, all as more fully set forth in the contract modification, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked "Exhibit A ".. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute all other related contracts, modifications, extensions, renewals, or other documentation required in the implementation and contination of the aforesaid program. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid contract modification and such other necessary and related contracts, modifi- cations, extensions, renewals, or other documentation required in the imple- mentation and continuation of the aforesaid program creates a public emer- gency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be-passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally. on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this MICROFILMED 13891 �JUL 0 7 1980 �� • b10DIFICATION OF GRANT 1.
