HomeMy WebLinkAbout13902 RES - 08/24/19778- 23- 77:vp:15t A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE ALL APPROPRIATE AND NECESSARY ACTIONS SEEKING LEAVE TO INTERVENE AND INTERVENING IN DOCKET NO. 25809, TRANSATLANTIC ROUTE PROCEEDING, BEFORE THE CIVIL AERONAUTICS BOARD IN WASHINGTON, D.C.; EXPRESSING SUPPORT OF THE APPLICA= TION OF BRANIFF INTERNATIONAL REQUESTING A CERTIFICATE ' rOF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TO TRANSPORT PAS- SENGERS, CARGO AND MAIL BETWEEN TERMINAL POINTS CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, DALLAS /FORT WORTH, TEXAS AND LONDON, ENGLAND, POINTS IN 'EUROPE AND IN SAUDI ARABIA; AUTHO- RIZING THE CITY SECRETARY TO PROVIDE TRUE COPIES OF , THIS RESOLUTION TO ALL APPROPRIATE AND INTERESTED PARTIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. a SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to take all appropriate and necessary actions seeking leave to intervene and intervening in Docket No. 25809, transatlantic route proceeding, before the Civil Aeronautics Board in Washington,,D•C. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Corpus Christi hereby, endorses the application of Braniff International requesting a certificate of public convenience and necessity to transport passengers, cargo and mail between terminal point Corpus Christi, Texas, Dallas /Fort Worth, Texas ?rs and London, England, °points in Europe and in Saudi Arabia: The City Council � Y of the.City of Corpus` - Christi hereby finds that the public interest of the ' citizens of Corpus Christi would be served by such direct transatlantic x service. T SECTION 3:' That the City Secretary be and he is hereby authorized �t to provide true copies of''this resolution to all.appropr.iate and interested parties. SECTION•4.
