HomeMy WebLinkAbout13912 ORD - 08/31/1977JKH :vmr:8- 31- 77;lst AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT MODI- FICATIONS AND RELATED DOCUMENTS WITH THE FLOUR BLUFF INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, WEST OSO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, CALALLEN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, TULOSO- MIDWAY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, DEL MAR COLLEGE AND THE LULAC EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER FOR 78 PUBLIC SER- VICE EMPLOYMENT POSITIONS UNDER TITLE VI OF THE COMPRE- HENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING ACT OF 1973 AS MORE FULLY SET OUT IN SAID CONTRACTS COPIES OF WHICH IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME FORM ARE ATTACHED HERETO, MARKED EXHIBITS "A" THROUGH "F ", AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract amendment and all related documents with the Flour 'Bluff Independent School District, West Oso Independent School District, Calallen Independent School,District, Tuloso- Midway Independent School District, Del Mar College and the Lulac Educational Service Center for 78 public service employment positions under Title VI of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973 as more fully set out in said contracts, copies of which in substantially the same form are attached hereto, marked Exhibits "A' through "F ", and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid documents in order that additional public service employment positions may 'be filled at the earliest practicable date creates-a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction but-that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the ��5� day of 6.A A use , 1977.
