HomeMy WebLinkAbout13918 ORD - 08/31/1977AN ORDINANCE .AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR FUNDING OF A COUNTER FENCING TASK FORCE AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE TASK FORCE IF THE GRANT IS APPROVED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given for submission of a grant application to the Criminal Justice Division for funding of a Counter Fencing Task'Force, and authorization is hereby given for execution of all documents necessary to implement the Task Force if the grant is approved. SECTION.2. The necessity to authorize submission of a grant S application and execution of documents necessary to implement the Task Force, all as more fully set forth hereinabove, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at•three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested that said Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the.3S _day of Qu _ 1977.
