HomeMy WebLinkAbout13937 ORD - 09/14/1977vp:7/13/77:1,5t AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 16 TO THE CONTRACT WITH LANPHIER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CORPUS CHRISTI COMMUNITY AUDITORIUM, ' SAID CHANGE ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS TO THE AUDITORIUM, AS APPROVED IN THE BALLOT PROPOSITION OF JUNE 26, 1976, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN SAID CHANGE ORDER, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED "EXHIBIT A "; APPROPRIATING $6,970 OUT OF THE NO. 209 COMMUNITY CON- VENTION FACILITY BOND FUND TO SUPPLEMENT PREVIOUS APPRO- PRIATIONS ON THE AUDITORIUM PROJECT, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 209 -76 -7, AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given for execution of Change Order No. 16 to the contract with Lanphier Construction Company for .f improvements to the Corpus Christi Community Auditorium, said change order to provide for various improvements to the Auditorium, as approved in the ballot proposition of June 26, 1976, all as more fully set forth in said IL 4 change order, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof,_marked "Exhibit A ". SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $6,970 out of the No. 209 Community Convention Facility Bond Fund to supplement previous appropriations on the Auditorium project, applicable to Project No, 209 -76 -7, Auditorium Improvements. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the change order as hereinabove described and to provide sufficient funds so as to permit the construction to proceed without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter - rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from MICROF1+ DIED JUL 071980 X3937 and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the �"4_ day of September, 1977.
