AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 2, 3, 4 AND
5 IN CONNECTION WITH THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT LAND
a ACQUISITION PROJECT; APPROPRIATING $514,000 OUT OF _
THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION GRANT NO. DOT -FA-
76S14-8100, FAA PROJECT NO. 6 -48- 0051 -5, AIRPORT LAND
GRANT, FOR SAID LAND ACQUISITION, OF WHICH $467,250
IS FOR ACQUISITION AND $46,750 IS FOR CONTINGENCIES
AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES RELATED TO CLOSING; AUTHORIZ-
ING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE IN
PROJECT NO. 245 -72 -1, AIRPORT LAND EXPANSION FOR
SAID APPROPRIATION OF $514,000; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY. ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE'CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS.
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to
execute documents necessary for the acquisition of Parcels 2, 3, 4 and 5, in
connection with the International Airport Land Acquisition Project, said
parcels and the owners thereof being as follows:
Parcel 2
Being an irregularly shaped tract of land out of the J. R. Ward Survey, Abstract
1005, and a portion of Section 6, Range IV, H. L. Kinney Sectionized Lands and a
portion of Share 3, Bockholt Partition as recorded in Volume 130, Page 200, Deed

Records, Nueces County, Texas, and more particularly described by metes and bounds
as follows:
Beginning at a point in the centerline of 60 foot wide McGloin Road, said point
being the southeast corner of abovementioned Section 62 Range IV, H. L. Kinney
T'.
Sectionalized Lands;
Thence N. 010 55' W., passing the north right -of -way line of said McGloin Road at
30.0 feet, in all a distance of 2689.99 feet to a point, said point being the
southeast corner of abovementioned Share 3, for the beginning corner of the tract
of land herein described;
Thence S. 690 02' W., along the south boundary line of said Share 3, a distance
of 2378.76 feet to a point on the east right -of -way line of Bockholt Road;

a distance of 322.72 feet to the P.C. of a circular curve to the left;
Thence continue along the east right -of -way line of said Bockholt Road with the
arc of said curve whose central angle is 8 0 55`a radius of 1175.92 feet tangent
of 91.69 feet, a distance of 183.00 feet to the point of tangency;
Thence N. 100 34' 40" W., along the east right -of -way line of said Bockholt Road,
a distance of 371.73 feet to the P.C. of a circular curve to the right;
Thence continue along the east right -of -way line of said Bockholt Road with the
arc of said curve whose central angle is 8 20' 23 ", radius of 1115.92 feet,
tangent of 81.36 feet, a distance of 162.43 feet to a point;
Thence N. 890 02' E., a distance of 2459.42 feet to a point.on the east boundary
line of abovementioned Share 3, said point being the southwest corner'of a tract
of land conveyed to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, by deed as recorded in
Volume 841, Page 602, Deed Records, Nueces County, Texas;
Thence S. 10 55' E -a along the east boundary line of said Share 3, a distance of
1033.01 feet to the place beginning and containing 57.030 acres, more or less.

Being a rectangular shaped tract of land out of the J. R. Ward Survey,
Abstract 1005 and a portion of Section 6, Range IV, H. L. Kinney Sectional-
ized Lands and a portion of Share 4, Bockholt Partition as recorded in
Volume 130, Page 200, Deed Records, Nueces County, Texas, and more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:

southwest corner of Blocs 231 J. C. Russell Farm Blocks as shown by map of re-
cord in Volume 3, Page 53, Map Records, Nueces, County, Texas;
Thence N. 10 42' W., a distance of 30.0 feet to a point in the north right-
of way line of said McGloin Road;

Thence S. 88 0 37' W., along the north right -of -way line of said McGloin Road,
a distance of 2640.0 feet to a point for the southeast and beginning corner of

Thence continue S. 880 37' W., along the north right -of -way line of said
McGloin Road, a distance of 806.67 feet to a point from whence the southeast
corner of the abovementioned Range IV bears S. 10 42' E., a distance of 30.0
feet;
Thence N. 1 0 42' W., a distance of 3,693.00 feet to a point, said point being the
southwest corner of a tract of land conveyed by J. L. Scoggins to the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, by deed recorded in Volume 841, Page 602, Deed Records,
Nueces County, Texas;
Thence N. 880 18' E., along the south boundary line of said City of Corpus Christi
property, a distance of 806.70 feet to a point which is the southeast corner of
said tract conveyed to the City of Corpus Christi;
Thence S. 10 42' E., along the west boundary line of a tract of land conveyed
by Rand Morgan to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, by deed recorded in Volume
788, Page 532, Deed Records, Nueces County, Texas, passing the southwest corner
of said tract at 2111.55 feet, in all a distance of 3697.46 feet to the place of
beginning, and containing 68.429 acres, more or less.

way line of abovementioned- McGloin Road for the southeast and beginning corner
of the tract of land herein described;

Thence N. 10 42' W., a distance of 1585.91 feet to a point, said point being the
southwest corner of a tract of land conveyed by Rand Morgan to the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, by deed recorded in Volume 788, Page 532, Deed Records, Nueces
County, Texas;
Thence N. 880 37' E., along the south boundary line of said City of Corpus Christi
property, a distance of 1320.0 feet to an angle point;
Thence S_ 450 00' E., continue along the boundary line of said City of Corpus
Christi property, a distance of 1924.70 feet to a point in the west boundary line
of abovementioned Block 23;
Thence S. 00 42' E., along the west boundary line of said Block 23, a distance of

SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $514,000 out of
the Department of Transportation Grant No. DOT- FA -76SW -8100, FAA Project No. 6 -48-
0051-5, Airport Land Grant, for said land acquisition, of which $467,250 is for
acquisition and $46,750 is for contingencies and incidental expenses related to
closing.
SECTION 3. That authorization is hereby given for establishment of an
accounts receivable in Project No. 245 -72 -1, Airport Land Expansion, for the afore-
said appropriation of $514,000.

SECTION 4. The necessity to acquire the hereinabove described
parcels and to appropriate the sums necessary therefore in order that
the International Airport Land Acquisition Project may proceed without
4elay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or reso-
lution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of
the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and
necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter
rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction and take effect` from and after itt/s //J//�/�passaAge, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance,
a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the
Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City
Council.
