HomeMy WebLinkAbout14009 ORD - 11/09/1977• JKH:hb:11/7/77 TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 55 -132 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, BY AMENDING SUBSECTION (c) SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR NOT MORE THAN 60 MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS FOR INSTALLATION OF SEWER EXTENSIONS WITH MINIMUM MONTHLY PAYMENTS OF NOT LESS THAN $5.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Section 55 -132 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, 1976 Revision, be and the same is hereby amended by amending subsection (c), the fourth sentence, the said revised sentence to hereafter read as follows: "There shall be a carrying charge on any balance of five and one- fourth percent (5 -1/4 %) per annum for the period covered by all of the installment payments with such total payable in monthly installments, not exceeding sixty (60) installments, with a minimum payment of not less than $5.00 per month." SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con- flict herewith be and same are repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 3. That the necessity to provide for minimum monthly installment payments for installation of sewer extensions creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the sus- pension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the 1 day of November, 1977.
