AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13666, PASSED AND APPROVED BY
THE CITY COUNCIL ON MARCH 2, 1977, BY AMENDING
SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE, SO AS TO CORRECT AND
ADJUST THE ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST THE ABUTTING
PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS:
HOUSTON STREET FROM CARROLL LANE TO ROSTORYZ
AS HEREWITH PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 13666, passed and approved by
the City Council on March 2, 1977, be amended by amending Section 3 of
said Ordinance, so as to correct and adjust the assessments levied against
the abutting property owners on the following streets:
Houston Street from Carroll Lane to Rostoryz,
as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a
substantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A ", and made a
part hereof.
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment
roll as herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public.
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter'rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to
exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect
and be in full force and effect from and der its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY

FINAL CORRECTED ASSESSMENT ROLL
FOR
HOUSTON STREET - CARROLL LANE TO ROSTORYZ ROAD
STREET IMPROVEMENTS
Houston Street has been improved to include pavement measuring 28 feet from the back
of the curb, utilizing a 6 -inch compacted subgrade, 8 -inch compacted caliche base,
and Ik -inch Type D hot -mix surface.
It has a standard 6 -inch curbs and gutters. Sidewalks are standard 4- inch-thick
reinforced concrete to design width and 6 -inch thick reinforced concrete drive-
ways have been installed where specified or requested by owners.
The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest paving
assessment policy adopted by the City. Based on the low bid submitted and accepted
from the Asphalt Paving and Construction Company, these rates are:
Curb, Gutter and Pavement - 28' $6.92 per l.f.
Sidewalks .95 per s.f.
Driveways 1.86 per s.f.
All properties, one and two family use, churches and schools have been assessed
the maximum rate established by the City Council as follows:

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance,
a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the
Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City
Council.
