HomeMy WebLinkAbout14052 ORD - 11/23/1977• jkh:11- 23 -77; 1st TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 13903, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON AUGUST 24, 1977, PERTAINING TO THE CLOSING OF A PORTION OF CORONA DRIVE, LOCATED GENERALLY BETWEEN EVERHART ROAD AND EMBASSY DRIVE, AND PADRE ISLAND DRIVE AND STONEGATE, BY ADDING TO SUCH CLOSURE A TRACT KNOWN AS TRACT 2, BEING IN- ADVERTENTLY OMITTED FROM SAID ORDINANCE NO. 13903; FURTHER AMENDING SAID ORDINANCE BY DELETING THEREFROM THE THREE CONDITIONS SET OUT FOR COMPLIANCE BY THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 13903, passed and approved by the • City Council on August 24, 1977, pertaining to the closing of a portion of Corona Drive, located generally between Everhart Road and Embassy Drive, and Padre Island Drive and Stonegate, be and the same is hereby amended by adding to such closure a tract known as Tract 2, being inadvertently omitted from said Ordinace No. 13903, and being more particularly described as follows.: TRACT 2 FIELDNOTES for the closure of a portion of Corona Drive out of Block D. Levek Tract, a map of which is recorded in Volume 41, Pages 174, 175, Nap Records of Nueces County, Texas: BEGINNING at a point on the existing Southwest right -of -way line of Corona Drive for the North Corner of this tract from which corner the South corner of Lot 24, Block D, Levek Tract bears North 210 18' 18" West 33.25 feet; THENCE with the proposed right -of -way line of Corona Drive along a circular curve to the left whose radius point bears North 680 41' 42" East 268.67 feet and has a central angle of 640 39' 52 ", a radius of 268.67 feet, a tangent distance of 170.06 feet for an arc length of 303.22 feet to the P.T. of the curve; THENCE South 850 58' 10" East, with said proposed right -of -way, 64.46 feet to a point on the existing right -of -way line of Corona Drive for the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE with the existing right -of -way line of Corona Drive 'along a circular curve to the left whose radius point bears South 040 01' 50" West 250.00 feet and has a central angle of 360 52' 12 ", a radius of 250.00 feet, a tangent distance of 83.33 feet for an arc length of 160.87 feet to the P.R.C. of the curve; THENCE with a circular curve to the right whose radius point bears North 320 50' 22" West 125.00 feet, and has a central angle of 1740 17' 57 ", a radius of 125.00 feet, for an arc length of 380.26 feet to the P.C. of a circular curve to the left; THENCE along the circular curve to the left whose radius point bears North 380 32' 25" West 10 feet and has a central angle of 720 45' 5311, a radius of 10 feet, tangent 7.37 feet for an arc distance of 12.70 feet to the Point of Beginning. That Ordinance No. 13903 be further amended by deleting from the caption the three conditions set forth for compliance by the abutting property owner, and by deleting the three conditions from Section 1, following the description of Tract 1, and by deleting from the last introductory para- graph the words, "subject to the conditions outlined above: ". SECTION 3. Except as herein and hereby amended, the terms and conditions of Ordinance No. 13903 shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4. The fact that the public convenience and necessity would be better served by the closing of the portion of the aforesaid street, within the limits defined, creates a public emergency and an impera- tive public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its Introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the ?3 day of November, 1977.
