HomeMy WebLinkAbout14076 ORD - 12/14/1977JKH:hb:12 /13/77 • TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLI- CATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS FOR THE YOUTH CONSERVATION PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM, PENDING GRANT APPROVAL; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby given to the City Manager to submit a grant application to the Texas Department of Community Affairs for the Youth Conservation Program, and authorization is hereby given for execution of all documents necessary to implement the program, pending grant approval. SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize submission of a grant application and execution of all documents necessary to implement the Youth Conservation Program, all as more fully set forth hereinabove, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and eff ct from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the jday of December, 1977.
