HomeMy WebLinkAbout14132 ORD - 01/18/1978• JKH:vp:1/16 /7O:lst . 1 • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH MISSION PAVING COMPANY FOR THE RESURFACING OF RUNWAY 13 -31 AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT; APPROPRIATING $72,500 OUT OF FUND NO. 117, ACTIVITY 1984 (UNAPPROPRIATED AIRPORT FUND BALANCE), TRANSFERRING SAID APPROPRIATION TO FUND NO. 117, ACTIVITY 5416, CODE 345, OF WHICH $69,180 IS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND $3,320 IS FOR ADDITIONAL ENGINEER- ING, LEGAL ADVERTISING, AND CONTINGENCIES APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 117 - 5416 -345, CORPUS CHRISTI INTER- NATIONAL AIRPORT, RUNWAY & TAXIWAY RESURFACE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Mission Paving Company for the resurfacing of Runway 13 -31 at the Corpus Christi International Airport, all as is more fully described in the plans and specifications and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are made a part hereof by reference and according to the bid of Mission Paving Company opened January 4, 1978, said bid being the most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $72,500 out of Fund No. 117, Activity 1984 (unappropriated Airport Fund balance), transferring said appropriation to Fund No. 117, Activity 5416, Code 345, of which $69,180 is for construction and $3,320 is for additional engineering, legal advertising, and contingencies applicable to Project No. 117- 5416 -345, Corpus Christi International Airport runway and taxiway resurface. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize the aforesaid contract and to appropriate the necessary sums in order that the resurfacing of said runway at the Corpus Christi International Airport may proceed without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force MICROFILMED 14132 JUL 0 7 1900 r. and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 12tk., day of January, 1978.
