HomeMy WebLinkAbout14257 ORD - 04/05/1978jkh:4 -4 -78; 1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED,BY AMENDING SECTION 35 -21, SCOPE, UNDER ARTICLE II, LAND DRILLING, SO AS TO SUBSTITUTE THE WORDS, "ARTICLE III" FOR THE PRESENT DESIGNATION OF "ARTICLE II "; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, 1976 Revision, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Article II, LAND DRILLING, DIVISION 1, PURPOSE AND SCOPE, Section 35 -21, Scope, by deleting reference therein to Article II and substituting in lieu thereof, the words "Article III ", said Section 35 -21 to hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 35 -21. Scope. This article shall govern the exploration, drilling and production of hydrocarbons and matters incident thereto, in all areas of the city except those areas subject to regulations under the terms of Article III of this chapter." SECTION 2. The necessity to correct an erroneous reference to the Land Drilling Ordinance at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspen- sion of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolu- tion shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor,having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the s day of Apri 1978.
