HomeMy WebLinkAbout14337 ORD - 05/31/1978I JKH:ya:5- 30- 78:lst TEXAS: C AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A TITLE VI COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING ACT CONTRACT MODIFICATION INCREASING THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS FROM 545 TO 986, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE CONTRACT MODIFICATION, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A "; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL RELATED AND NECESSARY DOCUMENTS TO MODIFY THE AFORESAID CONTRACT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a Title VI Comprehensive Employment and Training Act contract modification increasing the number of positions from 545 to 986, with the contract amount to remain $5,283,613 through September 30, 1978, all as more fully set forth in the contract modification, a substantial copy of which is.attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ". SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute all related and necessary documents to modify the aforesaid contract. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid contract modification and any and all related and necessary documents to continue the project without delay or interruption creates a public emer- gency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after *ts passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the —3 / day 1978.
