HomeMy WebLinkAbout14349 ORD - 06/07/1978JKH:hb:6 /7/78 TEXAS: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO OBTAIN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE HERITAGE CONSERVATION AND RECREATION SERVICE (FORMERLY THE BUREAU OF OUTDOOR RECREATION) THROUGH THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE COMMISSION TO EXPAND H.E.B. TENNIS CENTER FOR PUBLIC OUTDOOR RECREATION PURPOSES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to obtain fi'nancial assistance from the a Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service (formerly the Bureau of,Outdoor Recreation) through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission to expand H.E.B. Tennis Center for Public Outdoor Recreation purposes. SECTION 2. That the necessity to authorize, without delay, execution by the City Manager of documents necessary in order to obtain financial assistance for the purposes hereinabove outlined creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the day of June, 1978.
