AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED, AND PARTICULARLY
AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 13889, BY AMENDING SEC.
12 -61, "RATES AND RENTAL FEES FOR USE OF SLIPS AND
DOCK SPACE - SCHEDULE AND REGULATIONS ", SUBSECTION
2(h), BY DELETING CURRENT BIDDING PROCEDURES FOR
CHARTER BOAT SLIPS IN THE MARINA; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi,
1976 Revision, as amended, and particularly as amended by Ordinance No.
13889, be amended by amending Section 12 -61, "Rates and Rental Fees for Use
of Slips and Dock Space - Schedule and Regulations ", Subsection 2(h), by
deleting the words "unless more than one owner requests to lease the same
slip" at the end of the first sentence, said sentence to hereafter read
as follows: "The rate for slips used by charter boats shall be the same
as that for all other craft."
• That the second paragraph of Subsection 2(h), referring to
current bidding procedures for charter boat slips in the Marina, be deleted
in its entirety.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflicts.
SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official
publication of the City of Corpus Christi by publishing the caption of this
ordinance, stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
SECTION 4. The necessity to amend the City Code as hereinabove
set forth at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and
an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such
emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of
the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date

of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance,
a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the
Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City
Council.
