HomeMy WebLinkAbout14480 ORD - 08/30/1978• JBA:vp:8-29- 78;lst AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE COMPENSATION PLAN AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 8127 AND AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 13888 BY CHANGING SUBSECTION 703, PRODUCTIVITY PROGRAM, TO SHOW ESTABLISH- MENT OF THE PROGRAM AS OF JULY 31, 1978, AND FIXING 144 HOURS AS BASIS OF CALCULATION; AND DECLARING AN EMER- GENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Compensation Plan as adopted by Ordinance No. 8127 and amended by Ordinance No. 13888 is hereby amended as follows: 1. Section 703.1 is changed to read: "A productivity program will be in effect, retroactive to July 31, 1978, in the Maintenance Services department, Mechanical Repair activity." 2. Section 703.2 is changed by deleting the last sentence and substituting the following: "The standard for production shall be the standards established in Chilton's Flat Rate Manual or standards based on prior experience and recommendations, calcu- lated on 144 hours available working time." SECTION 2. The necessity to amend the Compensation Plan as herein - above set forth at the earliest possible date so as to show establishment of the Productivity Program as of July 31, 1978 and fixing 144 hours as basis of calculation creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 30 day of August, 1978.
