HomeMy WebLinkAbout14518 ORD - 09/27/1978Ic- ioiinL AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 53 -254, SECTION V, INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES, BY REDUCING THE SPEED LIMIT ON SARATOGA BOULEVARD FROM 55 MPH TO 45 MPH FROM A POINT 300 FEET WEST OF WEBER ROAD TO A POINT 300 FEET EAST OF EVERHART ROAD; TO 50 MPH FROM A POINT 300 FEET EAST OF EVERHART ROAD TO A POINT 200 FEET EAST OF SOUTH STAPLES STREET; AND TO 30 MPH, WHEN SCHOOL FLASHERS ARE OPERATING AND SO INDICATE,FROM A POINT 250 FEET WEST OF OAKBROOK DRIVE TO A POINT 250 FEET EAST OF SHEA PARKWAY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, 1976 Revision, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 53 -254, SECTION V, INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES, as follows: NAME OF STREET SPEED LIMIT EFFECTIVE TIMES Saratoga Boulevard (S.H.357): All that portion within the city limits Except as follows: From a point 300 feet west of Weber Road to a point 300 feet east of Everhart Road From a point 250 feet west of Oakbrook Drive to a point 250 feet east of Shea Parkway From a point 300 feet east of Everhart Road to a point 200 feet east of S. Staples Street (City Limits Line) 55 mph At all times 45 mph At all times 30 mph When school flashers are operating and so indicate 50 mph At all times SECTION 2.
