AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937,
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ,
OF THE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF
AUTOMATED SERVICES, INC. BY
AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON
5.68+ ACRE TRACT OUT OF LOT 19, FLOUR BLUFF AND
SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI NOECES COUNTY
TEXAS, FROM "A -1" AND "A -2" APARTMENT F�OUSE DISTRICT '
TO
; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS
OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City
Council its reports and recommendations concerning the application of
Automated Services, Inc. for amendment to the
zoning map of the City of Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before
the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper
notice to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday
_October 4, 1978 , at Regular Council Meeting of the City
Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi;
and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was
decided by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth
amendment would best serve public health, necessity and convenience and
the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of
record in Volume 9, Pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution
Records, as amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by
Ordinance No. 6106, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended b�y7�7
making the change hereinafter set out.

SECTION 2, That the zoning of a 5.68+ acre tract of land out of
Lot 19, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, situated in the
City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same is hereby
changed from "A -1" and "A -2" Apartment House District to "R -1B" One Family
Dwelling District, said tract or parcel being more particularly described
as follows:
FIELDNOTE DESCRIPTION of a 5.678 acre, more or less, tract of land being
a portion of Lot 19, Flour Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, as
recorded in Volume A, Pages 41, 42 and 43, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas.
BEGINNING at a point in the southwest boundary line of a 55 -foot. City of
Corpus Christi drainage right -of -way, same point being the most northerly
corner of Lot 1, Block 15, Briarwood Subdivision, as shown on plat recorded
in Volume 39, Page 72, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas for the most
easterly corner and POINT OF BEGINNING of this tract;
THENCE with the northwest line of said Lot 1 Block 15 Briarwood Subdivision,
S 291 02' 00" W 740:50 feet to an exterior corner of this tract;
THENCE with a northeast line of said Lot 1, Block 15, Briarwood Subdivision,
N 600 58' 00" W 130.08 feet to a point for an interior corner of this tract;
THENCE S 29° 02' 00" W 429.28 feet to a point in a circular curve to the left
whose radius center bears S 41° 42' 50" W 500.00 feet, having a central angle
of 12° 42' 49 ", a tangent length of 55.70 feet, and lying in the northeast
boundary line of Briarwood Subdivision Unit 3, as shown by plat recorded in
Volume 38, Pages 112 and 113, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas for an exterior
corner of this tract;
THENCE along the northeast boundary line of said Briarwood Subdivision Unit 3
and said curve to the left an arc length of 110.95 feet to the point of
tangency for an exterior corner of this tract;
THENCE continuing with the northeast boundary line of Briarwood Subdivision
Unit 3, N 61 °'00' 00" W 20.06 feet to a point for the most westerly corner
of this tract; said point being in the southeast boundary line of Woodlawn
Estates II, Unit 1, as shown by plat recorded in Volume 16, Page 3, Map .
Records, Nueces County, Texas;
THENCE along the southeast boundary line of Woodlawn Estates II, Unit 1,
N 29° 02' 00" E 1,157.28 feet to a point in the southwest boundary line of
said 55 -foot City of Corpus Christi drainage right -of -way for the most
northerly corner of this tract;
THENCE with•the southwest boundary line of said 55 -foot City of Corpus
Christi drainage right -of -way, S 611 02' 00" E 260.16 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as
amended from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed. A
SECTION 6. That the necessity of immediately making aforesaid
change for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive zoning
ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an
Imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
Introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that
such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension
of the Charter'rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect
from anyo,. aft r its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the
day of 1972 .

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance,
a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the
Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City
Council.
