HomeMy WebLinkAbout14561 RES - 10/18/1978JKH:hb:10 /17/78 A RESOLUTION NAMING THE PARK TO BE LOCATED AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF ROYALTON AND ST. ANDREWS STREETS AS "ST. ANDREWS PARK "; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Board met in regular session on February 21, 1978; and WHEREAS, the Board voted to accept the recommendation that the park to be located at the southeast corner of Royalton and St. Andrews Streets, in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be named "St. Andrews Park "; and WHEREAS, the Board voted to forward this recommendation to the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi for its consideration: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the park located at the southeast corner of Royalton and St. Andrews Streets be and the same is hereafter designated "St. Andrews Park ". SECTION 2. That the necessity to officially designate the public park at the southeast corner of Royalton and St. Andrews Street as herein - above set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this resolution be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO RESOLVED, this the Jday of Oc ber, 1978.
