HomeMy WebLinkAbout14576 ORD - 10/25/1978jkh:10 -25 -78 i .� AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 14378, ADOPTED JULY 12, 1978, BY AMENDING SECTION 36 -84 BY ADDING THE CORPUS CHRISTI BALLET THEATRE AS A CLASS IV RENTAL CHARGE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, 1976 Revision, as amended, and particularly as amended by Ordinance No. 14378, passed and approved by the City Council on July 12, 1978, be amended by amending Section 36 -84, Subsection A thereof, by amending paragraph 4 of said subsection to hereafter read as follows: "4. Class IV: Corpus Christi Symphony and Corpus Christi Ballet Theatre. For each perfotmance, a base rental fee of twelve percent (12 %) of the gross ticket sales in excess of $5,000 will be charged, with a minimum fee of $300. This fee shall not exceed $1,000 for any one performance. In addition to the actual performance, this fee entitles the Lessee to a rehearsal on stage the day before the performance date, and up to six rehear- sals in the Rehearsal Hall. Additional rehearsal days may be purchased at the standard rates. The Lessee will be charged for equipment rental and additional services in accordance with Section 36 -86. All scheduling of performances and rehearsals will be done through the Convention Center Manager. If the Lessee sponsors an outside individual or group, the Class II rate will be charged." SECTION 2. The necessity to amend the Corpus Christi City Code as hereinabove set forth at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally 1415:6 on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of October, 1978.
