AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS
NECESSARY TO ACQUIRE PARCELS 201, 294, 295, 296, 315,
318, 319, 322 AND 325 FOR THE CORPUS CHRISTI BEACH
PARK SITES, AREA "B ", PROJECT NO. 291 -77 -2; APPROPRI-
ATING OUT OF THE NO. 291 PARK BOND FUND $115,000, OF
WHICH $100,350 IS FOR ACQUISITION AT THE APPROVED
VALUES AND $14,650 IS FOR CONTINGENCIES AND INCIDENTAL
COSTS RELATING TO CLOSING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:

1. That the City Manager be and he
is hereby authorized
to execute documents
necessary to acquire the following parcels from the
respective owners,
being necessary for the Corpus Christi Beach Park
Sites, Area "B ", Project

SECTION 2: That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 291
Park Bond Fund the sum of $115,000, of which amount $100,350 is for acquisi-
tion of the hereinabove described parcels at the approved values and the sum
of $14,650 is for contingencies and incidental costs relating to closing.
SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize acquisition of the afore-
said parcels and appropriation of sums necessary to effect �� ��LMa t at

the earliest practicable date in order that the Corpus Christi Beach Park
Sites, Area "B" Project may continue without delay creates a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of
its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at
three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor,having declared
such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of
said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the y day of
November,•1978.

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance,
a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the
Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City
Council.
