AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT
TO THE ARCHITECTURAL CONTRACT WITH COTTEN - LANDRETH
ARCHITECTS FOR'DESIGN OF IMPROVEMENTS TO THE TERMINAL
BUILDING AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT,
SAID AMENDMENT PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL DESIGN WORK
FOR ADDITIONAL CONCOURSE SECURITY MEASURES, A COPY OF
WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF MARKED
EXHIBIT "A "; APPROPRIATING $2,000 OUT OF THE NO. 245
AIRPORT BOND FUND, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 245- 77 -4.1,
SECURITY SCREENING /CONCOURSE RENOVATION; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to execute an amendment to the architectural contract with Cotten - Landreth
Architects for design of improvements to the Terminal Building at the Corpus
Christi International Airport, said amendment providing for additional design
work for additional concourse security measures, a substantial copy of_ which,

is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A ".
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated $2,000 out of the
No. 245 Airport Bond Fund, applicable to Project No. 245- 77 -4.1, Security
Screening /Concourse Renovation.
SECTION 3. That the necessity to execute the aforesaid amendment
to the architectural contract and to appropriate the sum hereinabove set out
so that the improvements to the Terminal Building at the Corpus Christi
Internation< Airport can be expedited at the earliest practicable date
creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this
the 2-'1—day of November, 1978.

AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE CONTRACT FOR
ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi and Cotten - Landreth Architects agree to
the following amendment to the architectural contract for architec-
tural services regarding the modification and expansion of the
terminal building of the Corpus Christi International Airport which
was authorized by the City of Corpus Christi on May 10, 1978 by the
passage of Ordinance No. 14308:
Cotten - Landreth Architects agree to prepare plans and specifications
for the security screening and concourse renovation for a fixed fee
amount of $2,000, which will be paid upon delivery of plans and
specifications to the City of Corpus Christi.

from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance,
a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the
Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request
that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance
finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City
Council.
