HomeMy WebLinkAbout14647 ORD - 12/06/1978I -'V" vp:12/5/78:1st , • AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $2,500 FROM THE UNAPPROPRIATED FUND BALANCE OF THE FUND NO. 103, TOURIST AND CONVENTION DEVELOPMENT FUND, FOR THE EXPENSES OF SELECTING AN ARTIST AND PREPARING A PROPOSAL FOR SUBMISSION OF A x GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT OF THE ARTS FOR SCULPTURE IN THE BAYFRONT PLAZA, TO BE PLACED IN ACTIVITY NO. 5509, CULTURAL PROJECTS, CODE 301; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated $2,500 from the unappropriated fund balance of Fund No. 103, the Tourist and Convention Development Fund, for the expenses of selecting an artist and preparing a proposal for submission of a grant application to the National Endowment of the Arts for Sculpture in the Bayfront Plaza, to be placed in Activity No. 5509, Cultural Projects, Code 301. SECTION 2. That the necessity to appropriate the funds necessary to cover expenses of selecting an artist and preparing a proposal for sub- mission of a grant application to the National Endowment of the Arts for Sculpture in the Bayfront Plaza, as hereinabove set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of December, 1978.
