HomeMy WebLinkAbout14650 ORD - 12/13/1978jkh:12- 12- 78;lst C AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $6,400 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND FOR ADDITIONAL CITY - FINANCED ITEMS ON AIRLINE ROAD (METROPOLITAN HIGHWAY 143) FROM SOUTH PADRE ISLAND DRIVE (S.H. 358) TO ALAMEDA STREET REPRESENTING ADDI- TIONAL COSTS OF CONSTRUCTION INCURRED BY THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, PAYABLE TO THE STATE TREASURER, ACCOUNT OF TRUST FUND NO. 927, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220 -77 -6, AIRLINE ROAD, ALAMEDA TO PADRE ISLAND DRIVE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund the sum of $6,400 for additional City- financed items on Airline Road (Metropolitan Highway 143) from South Padre Island Drive (S.H. 358) to Alameda Street representing additional costs of construction incurred by the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation, payable to the State Treasurer, Account of Trust Fund No. 927, applicable to Project No. 220 -77 -6, Airline Road, Alameda to Padre Island Drive. SECTION 2. The necessity to appropriate the sums hereinabove described for the purposes set forth creates a public emergency and an impera- tive public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its intro- duction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the - r, 1978.
