HomeMy WebLinkAbout14838 ORD - 03/07/1979• JKH:vp:3/14/79:1st AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FIFTH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION AND HOUSING ASSISTANCE PLAN AND AMENDMENTS TO THE FOURTH YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT THE SAID GRANT APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. • BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That approval of the Fifth Year Community Development Block Grant Application and Housing Assistance Plan and amendments to the Fourth Year Community Development Block Grant Program is hereby given. SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to submit the said grant application to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. SECTION 3. The necessity to submit the aforesaid grant application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emer- gency and necessity to exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /it day of March, 1979.
