AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING A PARCEL OR TRACT OF LAND, MORE FULLY
DESCRIBED HEREINAFTER, BUT GENERALLY DESCRIBED AS
A PORTION OF SARATOGA BOULEVARD ABUTTING A PORTION
OF LOT 1, BLOCK 7, ROBERTSON'S FARM TRACT AS
SHOWN BY MAP OF RECORD IN VOLUME 39, PAGES 114 AND
115, MAP RECORDS, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, PURSUANT TO
ARTICLE 970a, V.A.C.S., TEXAS, AS AMENDED, AND CITY
CHARTER ARTICLE I, SECTION 2(c), PROVIDING FOR THE
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI OF ROADS,
HIGHWAYS AND STREETS ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
WHEREAS, on the 28th day of February, 1979, a public hearing was
duly held at the Regular Council Meeting of the City Council, following publica-
tion of due notice of said hearing in the official newspaper, pursuant to
Article 970a, V.A.C.S., Texas, as amended, for the consideration of proceed-
ings for the annexation of a defined area wholly within the extraterritorial
jurisdiction of Corpus Christi, including a portion of Saratoga Boulevard,
more fully described hereinafter, at which all interested persons were
afforded an opportunity to be heard, and by motion duly made, seconded and
carried the said hearing was closed on February 28, 1979; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council that the terri-
tory above mentioned, and now proposed to be annexed, abuts and is contiguous
and is adjacent to the City of Corpus Christi and constitutes lands and
territories used for public purposes and which is owned by any governmental
subdivision, or dedicated to a public use within the meaning of the City
Charter, Article I, Section 2(c); and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it would be advantageous to
the City and to its citizens and in the public interest to annex the
aforesaid hereinafter more fully described area:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby annexed a portion of Saratoga
Boulevard, more fully described hereinafter by metes and bounds, to -wit:

Beginning at the point of intersection of the southwest right-of-way
line of 120.0 foot wide Saratoga Boulevard and a corner in the present City
Limit line, said point being also the most easterly corner of Lot 1, Block 7,
Robertson's Farm Tract as shown by map of record in Volume 39, Pages 114 and
115, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas;
Thence S. 61° 13' 15" E. along the southwest right-of-way line of said
Saratoga Boulevard a distance of 725.97 feet to a point in the present City
Limit line as established by City Ordinance No. 13970, for the beginning
point of the tract of land herein described;
Thence N. 29° 01' 43" E. along the present City Limit line crossing
said Saratoga Boulevard at a distance of 120.0 feet to a point on the north-
east right-of-way line of said Saratoga Boulevard, said point being a corner
in the present City Limit line;
Thence S. 61° 13' 15" E. along the present City Limit line with the
northeast right-of-way line of said Saratoga Boulevard a distance of 362.99
feet to a point;
Thence S. 29° 01' 43" W. crossing said Saratoga Boulevard at a distance
of 120.0 feet to a point on the southwest right-of-way line of said Saratoga
Boulevard;
Thence N. 61° 13' 15" W. along the southwest right-of-way line of said
Saratoga Boulevard a distance of 362.99 feet to the place of beginning and
containing 1.000 acres, more or less.
The above described area shall hereafter be a part of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, and shall be subject to the general laws of the State of
Texas, the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi and the ordinances,
resolutions, laws, rules and regulations of the City of Corpus Christi,
to all intents and purposes as the present City of Corpus Christi is subject,
and subject to all the rights, privileges and burdens thereof.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid
or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction,
it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,

This Ordinance authorizes the annexation of a portion of Saratoga

Tract.
