HomeMy WebLinkAbout14889 ORD - 05/09/1979• JKH:rr:5-9-79 AN ORDINANCE 3 AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF $2,000 TO EMIL STEFEK, CON- TRACTOR ON THE GREENWOOD POOL PROJECT (COMPLETED FEBRUARY 20, 1974), FOR WORK COMPLETED BUT WHICH SUM WAS INADVERTENTLY DEDUCTED TWICE BY EXERCISING DEDUCTIVE ALTERNATES NOS. 6 AND 14; APPROPRIATING A TOTAL OF $2,000 OUT OF THE PARK TRUST FUND 111, ACCOUNT NO. 1752 UNRESTRICTED FOR PAYMENT TO EMIL STEFEK, GENERAL CONTRACTOR; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That payment of $2,000 is hereby authorized to be made to Emil Stefek, contractor on the Greenwood Pool Project (completed February 20, 1974), for work completed but which sum was inadvertently deducted twice by exercising deductive alternates Nos. 6 and 14. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $2,000 out of the Park Trust Fund 111, Account No. 1752 Unrestricted, for payment of the aforesaid sum to Emil Stefek, General Contractor. SECTION 3. The necessity to expedite payment of the aforesaid sum due the contractor for the Greenwood Pool Project creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 9 day of May, 1979.
