HomeMy WebLinkAbout14929 ORD - 05/30/1979• jkh:5-16-79;1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 1976 REVISION, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 53-254, SECTION V, INCREASE OF STATE SPEED LIMIT IN CERTAIN ZONES, BY INCREASING THE SPEED LIMITS ON VIOLET ROAD F.M. 24) FROM A POINT 5531.35 FEET SOUTH OF LEOPARD STREET (S.H. 9) TO THE NORTH FRONTAGE ROAD OF I.H.37 TO 45 MILES PER HOUR AT ALL TIMES, EXCEPT WHEN SCHOOL LIMIT FLASHERS INDICATING 35 MILES PER HOUR ARE DISPLAYED 100 FEET FROM EACH SIDE OF GUESS DRIVE AND BLADES DRIVE; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVID- ING FOR PUBLICATION. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the Code of Ordinances, City of Corpus Christi, 1976 Revision, as amended, be amended by deleting the reference to Violet Road (F.M. 24) which presently provides as follows: Violet Road (F.M. 24): From Leopard Street (S.H. 9) to a point 5531.35 feet south of Leopard Street (S.H. 9) - 45 mph - All Times and in lieu thereof adopting the following speed limit provision: Violet Road (F.M. 24): From a point 5531.35 feet south of Leopard Street (S.H. 9) to the North Frontage Road of I.H. 37 - 45 mph - all times, except when school limit flashers indicating 30 mph are displayed 100 feet from each side of Guess Drive and Blades Drive. SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 3. Publication shall be made one time in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi which publication shall contain the caption stating in substance the purpose of the ordinance.
