AN ORDINANCE
ADOPTING NEW AID AMBULANCE SERVICE RATES; PROVIDING FOR
SUPPLEMENTARY CHARGES FOR OXYGEN, INTRAVENOUS INJECTIONS,
MEDICATION AND ELECTROCARDIOGRAMS; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL
OF ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PARTICULARLY
REPEALING .ORDINANCE NO. 14462; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.

WHEREAS, the cost of providing ambulance service, including personnel
salaries and vehicle maintenance, has increased substantially since September 1,
1978; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that an increase in the
charges for ambulance service is essential; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the hereinafter prescribed
rates are reasonable, just and fair, being in the public interest, and will
help defray the increased operating costs:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That AID Ambulance Service rates are hereby adopted as
follows:
(A) Base Rates
(1) Completed emergency AID Ambulance Service runs
within the City, $60.00.
(2) Completed emergency AID Ambulance Service runs
outside the City, but within Nueces County,
$75.00.
(3) Non -emergency AID Ambulance Service runs (transfers)
within the City, $50.00.
(4) Non -emergency AID Ambulance Service runs (transfers)
outside the City but within Nueces County, $65.00.
(B) Supplementary Charges
These charges are in addition to any applicable charges
under Subsection A of this Section.
(1) Emergency or non -emergency runs within or outside the
City, but within Nueces County, requiring the admini-
stration of oxygen, $6.50.

(2) For administration of intravenous injections, $6.50.
(3) For administration of other medication, $6.50 or
actual cost, whichever is greater.
(4) Electrocardiogram, $10.00.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed, and particularly Ordinance
No. 14462, passed and approved by the City Council on August 23, 1978.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective June 18,1979.
