jkh:6-12-79;lst 11110 • AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A COMPREHENSIVE EMPLOYMENT TRAINING ACT TITLE VI CONTRACT MODIFICATION WITH THE JAPANESE ART MUSEUM TO AUTHORIZE TWO ADDITIONAL PUBLIC SERVICE POSITIONS THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 1979, AND TO INCREASE THE CURRENT CONTRACT• AMOUNT FROM $15,000 TO A NEW LEVEL OF $19,000, ALL AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN THE CONTRACT MODIFICATION, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute a Comprehensive Employment Training Act Title VI Contract Modifi- cation with the Japanese Art Museum to authorize two additional service posi- tions through September 30, 1979, and to increase the current contract amount from $15,000 to a new level of $19,000, all as more fully set forth in the said Contract Modification, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A", and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid contract modification at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall bepassedfinally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /3 day of June, 1979.
