Home My WebLink About14994 ORD - 07/18/1979vp:7/16/79:1st AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 14655, PASSED AND APPROVED ON DECEMBER 13, 1978, PERTAINING TO THE FOLLOWING STREET: Sacky Drive from 110 feet West of Bonham Drive to Kostoryz Road, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AND ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, ALL AS HEREINAFTER PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 14655, passed and approved on December 13, 1978, closing the hearing on street improvements for Sacky Drive from 110 feet West of Bonham Drive to Kostoryz Road, in the City of Corpus Christi, be amended by correcting and adjusting the assessments levied against abutting property on the following street: Sacky Drive from 110 feet West of Bonham Drive to Kostoryz Road, as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment roll as herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, 'and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the /1 day of July, 1979. This street shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a standard curb and gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 6" compacted caliche base and 1 1/2" Type "D" Hot Mix Asphaltic pavement for a 28' wide street. There will be 4' wide reinforced concrete sidewalks 4" thick and 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways where requested by property owners. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest paving policy adopted by the City. Based on the lowest bid price submitted by Asphalt Paving Concrete Company, the assessment rates are as follows: 28' Wide Street, Back of Curb 4" Curb, Gutter & Pavement 6" Curb, Gutter & Pavement $13.18 per 1.f. 13.44 per 1.f. Sidewalk $1.04 per s.f. All properties, zoned and used for one and two family residences, churches and schools have been assessed at the maximum rate established by the City Council as follows: Curb, Gutter & Pavement $4.75 per s.f.
