HomeMy WebLinkAbout14995 ORD - 07/18/1979vp:7/16/79:1st AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 WITH ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVING FOR SACKY DRIVE IMPROVEMENTS FROM BONHAM TO KOSTORYZ, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HERE- OF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; APPROPRIATING $1,457.28 OUT OF THE NO. 220 STREET BOND FUND FOR COST OVERRUNS INCURRED FOR THESE IMPROVEMENTS, APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 220- 72-55; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Asphalt Concrete Paving for Sacky Drive Improvements from Bonham to Kostoryz, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $1,457.28 out of the No. 220 Street Bond Fund for cost overruns incurred for the above improvements, applicable to Project No. 220-72-55. SECTION 3. That the necessity to execute Change Order No. 1 to the contract with Asphalt Concrete Paving for the Sacky Drive Extension Project and to appropriate the sums necessary to construct the improvements at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordi- nance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /1 day of July, 1979.
