HomeMy WebLinkAbout15012 ORD - 07/25/1979jkh:7=23-79;1st AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND SUBMIT THE STEP 2 GRANT APPLICATION TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ON THE FLOUR BLUFF WASTEWATER TREAT- MENT PLANT, AND ALL SUBSEQUENT AMENDMENTS THERETO, OUT- LINING A TOTAL PROJECT COST OF $144,800, OF WHICH $108,600 WILL BE REIMBURSED TO THE CITY BY THE ENVIRON- MENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY AND $36,200 WILL BE THE CITY'S SHARE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute and submit the Step 2 Grant Application to the Environmental Protection Agency on the Flour Bluff Wastewater Treatment Plant, and all subsequent amendments thereto, outlining a total project cost of $144,800, of which $108,600 will be reimbursed to the City by the Environmental Protection Agency and $36,200 will be the City's share. SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution and submission of the aforesaid grant application and all subsequent amendments thereto at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and neces- sity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the o21' day of July, 1979.
