AN ORDINANCE
ADOPTING A REVISED PROJECT SCHEDULE IN CONNECTION WITH
THE FLOUR BLUFF WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT, E. P. A.
PROJECT NO. C-48-1215-02, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF WHICH
IS ATTACHED HERETO, MARKED EXHIBIT "A" AND MADE A PART
HEREOF, SAID PROJECT SCHEDULE BEING REQUIRED IN CONNEC-
TION WITH THE SUBMISSION OF A STEP 2 GRANT APPLICATION
TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY FOR FINANCIAL
ASSISTANCE UNDER THE FEDERAL WATER POLLUTION CONTROL
ACT AMENDMENTS OF 1972, PUBLIC LAW NO. 92-500; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a revised project schedule in connection with
the Flour Bluff Wastewater,Treatment Plant, E.P.A. Project No. C-48-1215-02,
a substantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and made
a part hereof, said project schedule being required in connection with the
submission of a Step 2 Grant Application to the Environmental Protection
Agency for financial assistance under the Federal Water Pollution Control
Act Amendments of 1972, Public Law No. 92-500, be and the same is hereby
adopted.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized,
to adopt a revised project schedule in connection with the Flour Bluff Waste-
water Treatment Plant as hereinabove set out, all in accordance with the
requirements of Public Law 92-500.
SECTION 3. The necessity to adopt the aforesaid revised project
schedule in connection with the Flour Bluff Wastewater Treatment Plant at the
earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that
such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity
exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordi-
nance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage,

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
