BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the Texas Prison System to repair a Senior Community Services van as more fully described in the contract which is attached hereto, made a part hereof, and marked Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid contract at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and neces- sity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 2z-- day of August, 1979. BRUCE AYCOCK, CITY ATTORNEY By Assistant Cit/ orney 1507,1 HE CIT7 OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS MECOFIL VEHICLE RENOVATION AGREEMENT ' Date The undersigned agency requests renovation of the vehicle, described on the attached Renovation Request Form, which is used for transporting Senior Citizens and is part of a transportation network for aging programs. All renovation agreements must be signed by the Director of the Contracting Agency and the Area Agency on Aging. It is understood that the contracting agency is responsible for payment of all charges incurred during renovation and delivery of said vehicle. All charges must be paid within 30 days of receipt of the itemized invoice. Payment shall be made to the Rural Transportation Program, 800 Lake Air Drive, Waco, Texas 76710. All renovation work will be completed at the School Bus Repair facility of Texas Department of Corrections, Ellis Unit, Huntsville, Texas under agreement with the Governor's, Committee on Aging and Rural Trans- portation Program. ONLY THE DIRECTOR AND STAFF OF THE RURAL TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM IS AUTHORIZED TO CONTACT ELLIS UNIT REGARDING RENOVATION OF VEHICLES. All operating expenses associated with any vehicle lent to the contracting agency from the Rural Trans- portation ransportation Program lender fleet, for use during the renovation period, is the responsibility of the under- signed contracting agency. Insurance coverage for each lender vehicle is provided by the Rural Transportation Program. The attached Renovation Request Form must be fully completed by the contracting agency or Area Agency on Aging, before renovation authorization will be processed. This agreement authorizes Ellis Unit to totally renovate this vehicle and remove, replace, repair or fabricate any and all parts which are inoperable, defective or worn out. All work shall be completed as deemed nec- essary by the Ellis Unit Plant Supervisor or by specific instruction included on the renovation request form.
