HomeMy WebLinkAbout15080 ORD - 08/29/19798/27/79:1st:vp AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 14288 PASSED AND APPROVED ON APRIL 26, 1978, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESS- MENT ROLL AND ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS: 1. Dunbar, Easley and Sonora Streets from Greenwood Drive to Blake Street; 2. Elgin, Sabinas and Blake Streets from Sonora Street to Baldwin Boulevard; 3. Mohawk Street from Blake Street to Morgan Avenue; 4. Aztec Street from Cheyenne Street to Blake Street; 5. Osage Street from Morgan Avenue to 300 feet south of Aztec Street; 6. Seminole Street from Blake Street to Morgan Avenue; 7. Rosewood Street from Blake Street to Morgan Avenue; 8. Reynosa Street from Burnet Street to Belton Street; 9. Tasco Street from Sarita Street to State Highway 286, AS HEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 14288, passed and approved on April 26, 1978, be amended by amending Section 3 of said ordinance so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting property owners on the following streets: 1. Dunbar, Easley and Sonora Streets from Greenwood Drive to Blake Street; 2. Elgin, Sabinas and Blake Streets from Sonora Street to Baldwin Boulevard; 3. Mohawk Street from Blake Street to Morgan Avenue; 4. Aztec Street from Cheyenne Street to Blake Street; 5. Osage Street from Morgan Avenue to 300 feet south of Aztec Street; 6. Seminole Street from Blake Street to Morgan Avenue; 7. Rosewood Street from Blake Street to Morgan Avenue; 8. Reynosa Street from Burnet Street to Belton Street; 9. Tasco Street from Sarita Street to State Highway 286, as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a sub- stantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment roll as herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on°the date of its introduction but that MICROFI}LMED- F 150 0 -f such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the 029 day of August, 1979. Turner Cliff Zarsky by the following vote: passed 15080 by the following vote: FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AUGUST 29, 1979 LOZANO SCHOOL AREA STREET IMPROVEMENTS .The Lozano School Area Street Improvements shall include improvements to the follow- ing streets: 1. Dunbar, Easley and Sonora Streets from Greenwood Drive to Blake Street; 2. Elgin, Sabinas and Blake Streets from Sonora Street to Baldwin Boulevard; 3. Mohawk Street from Blake Street to Morgan Avenue; 4. Aztec Street from Cheyenne Street to Blake Street; 5. Osage Street from Morgan Avenue to 300 feet south of Aztec Street; 6. Seminole Street from Blake Street to Morgan Avenue; 7. Rosewood Street from Blake Street to Morgan Avenue; 8. Reynosa Street from Burnet Street to Belton Street; 9. Tasco Street from Sarita Street to State Highway 286. These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the laying of a standard curb and gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" compacted caliche base and 1" Type "D" Hot -Mix Asphaltic pavement. Streets will vary in width from 28' to 38' depending on right-of-way and street usage. There will be 4' wide reinforced sidewalks and 6" reinforced driveways as shown on construction plans or where requested by the owner. The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest paving policy adopted by the City. Based on the lowest bid price submitted by M & M Construction Company, the assessment rates are as follows: 28' Wide Street, Back of Curb 4" Curb, Gutter & Pavement 6" Curb, Gutter & Pavement 38' Wide Street, Back of Curb 4" Curb, Gutter & Pavement 6" Curb, Gutter & Pavement 36' Wide Street, Back of Curb 4" Curb, Gutter & Pavement 6" Curb, Gutter & Pavement $8.29 per 1.f. 8.61 per 1.f. $12.59 per 1.f. 12.91 per 1.f. $11.73 per 1.f. 12.05 per 1.f. Sidewalk S1.04 per s.f. Driveway 1.97 per s.f. All properties, one and two family use, churches and schools have been assessed at the maximum rate established by the City Council as: Curb, Gutter & Pavement Sidewalk $4.75 per 1.f. 0.75 per s.f.
