HomeMy WebLinkAbout15087 ORD - 08/29/1979• AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING URBAN ENGINEERING TO PREPARE THE STEP 1 GRANT APPLICATION TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE IN THE FIRST PHASE OF PLANNED IMPROVEMENTS TO AND EXPANSION OF THE ALLISON WASTE- WATER TREATMENT PLANT; APPROPRIATING $3,725 OUT OF THE NO. 250 SANITARY SEWER BOND FUND APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 250-77-6, ALLISON PLANT IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. Authorization is hereby given to Urban Engineering to prepare the Step 1 Grant Application to the Environmental Protection Agency on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi for Federal assistance in the first phase of planned improvements to and expansion of the Allison Wastewater Treatment Plant. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $3,725 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund applicable to Project No. 250-77-6, Allision Plant Improvements. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize preparation of the afore- said grant application and to appropriate the sums set out above at the earliest practicable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordin- ance or resolution shall be passed finalyy on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meet- ings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduc- tion and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the .27 day of August, 1979.
