HomeMy WebLinkAbout15139 ORD - 09/26/1979• vp:9/25/79:1st,, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 14853, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CRY COUNCIL ON APRIL 4, 1979, BY AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AND ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SIDE- WALK IMPROVEMENTS ALONG THE FOLLOWING STREETS: Casa De Manana, West Oso School District Area 1. Old Brownsville Road, north side, from Casa De Manana Unit I, to Cliff Maus Drive; 2. Bear Lane, north side, from Old Brownsville Road to Navigation Boulevard; AS HEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: • SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 14853, passed and approved by the City Council on April 4, 1979, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 3 of said ordinance so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assess- ments levied against abutting property owners for construction of sidewalk improvements along the following streets: Casa De Manana, West Oso School District Area 1. Old Brownsville Road, north side, from Casa De Manana Unit I, to Cliff Maus Drive; 2. Bear Lane, north side, from Old Brownsville Road to Navigation Boulevard; as hereinafter provided and as evidenced by the final assessment roll attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend Ordinance No. 14853 as herein provided so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting property owners involved in the sidewalk improvement project creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having 151 33 MICROFILMED All f; 9 fq9A�� • requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the agd. day of September, 1979. Old Brownsville Road, North Side, from Casa de Manana, Unit 1 to Cliff Maus Drive, 2. Bear Lane, North Side, from Old Brownsville Road to Navigation Boulevard. The sidewalk improvements shall consist of 4 foot wide reinforced concrete, 4 inches thick with sand layered subgrade. Toe -walls will be constructed where shown on the plans or directed by the Engineer. This is a sidewalk assessment project and abutting property owners are assess in accordance with the current assessment policy of the City of Corpus Christi. The low bid was submitted by E. J. Netek of Corpus Christi, Texas. Maximum assessment rate established by City Ordinance: Sidewalk $.75 per S.F.
