HomeMy WebLinkAbout15162 ORD - 10/10/1979011.1U -j-/7.156 O AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF PARCELS 56, 58, 59, 61 and 64, BLOCK 71, BEACH PORTION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, AT THE UPDATED APPROVED VALUES, ALL IN CONNECTION WITH THE BAYFRONT SCIENCE PARK PROJECT, NO. 209-76-1.3; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute docu- ments necessary for the acquisition of Parcels 56, 58, 59, 61 and 64, Block 71, Beach Portion of the City of Corpus Christi, at the updated approved values, in connection with the Bayfront Science Park Project No. 209-76-1.3, said parcels being more particulary described as follows: Parcel 56 East fifty five (55) feet of Lot One (1), Block Seventy -One (71), Beach Portion, of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as shown by map or plat thereof, as recorded in Volume A, Page 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas. Parcel 58 Lot Two (2), Block Seventy -One (71), BEACH PORTION of the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, according to the map or plat thereof, recorded in Volume "A", Page 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; Parcel 59 Lot Three (3), Block Seventy -One (71), BEACH PORTION of the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, • as shown by the map or plat thereof recorded in Volume "A", page 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas. Parcel 61 The North One -Half (N. 1/2) of Lot Five (5) and all of Lot Six (6), block Seventy -One (71), BEACH PORTION of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as shown by the map or plat thereof, recorded in Volume A, Pages 2-3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; Parcel 64 Lots Nine (9), Ten (10), and Eleven (11), Block Seventy-one (71), BEACH PORTION of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as shown by the map or plat thereof, recorded in Volume A, Page 3, Map Records, Nueces County, Texas; 1516% MICROFILME1J 0861sz9na SECTION 2. The necessity to authorize execution by the City Manager of all documents necessary for the acquisition of the aforesaid parcels at the earliest practicable date in order that the Bayfront Science Park Project may continue without delay creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /t% day of October, 1979.
