AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI ADOPTED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937,
APPEARING OF RECORD IN VOLUME 9, PAGES 565, ET SEQ,
OF TFIE ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION RECORDS, AS AMENDED
FROM TIME TO TIME AND PARTICULARLY AS AMENDED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 6106, AS AMENDED, UPON APPLICATION OF
RUDOLPH T. BARRERA BY
AMENDING THE ZONING MAP BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON
LOT 15 THROUGH 23, BLOCK 3, EDGEWATER TERRACE, AND
A PORTION OF LOTS 1, 2, 12 AND 13, SECTION 17,
FLOUR BLUFF AND ENCINAL FARM AND GARDEN TRACTS,
SITUATED IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY,
TEXAS,
ICTFROM
"R-1A" AND "R -1B" ONE FAMILY DWELLING
TO "A -I" APAR1MENT HOUSE DISTRICT
; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHER PROVISIONS
OF THE EXISTING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council
its reports and recommendations concerning the application of
Rudnlph T Rarrara for amendment to the zoning map of
the City of Corpus Christi;
WHEREAS, public hearing was held at which hearing all persons
wishing to appear and be heard were heard, to consider the same before the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice
to the public, said public hearing having been held on Wednesday
October 17, 1979 , at Special Council Meeting of the
City Council in the Council Chamber at City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi;
and
WHEREAS, by motion duly made, seconded and carried, it was decided
by the City Council that to approve the hereinafter set forth amendment would
best serve public health, necessity and convenience and the general welfare
of the City of Corpus Christi and its citizens:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record
in Volume 9, Pages 565, et seq, of the Ordinance and Resolution Records, as
amended from time to time, and in particular as amended by Ordinance No. 6106,
as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by making the change hereinafter
set out.

SECTION 2. That the zoning on Lots 15 through 23, Block 3,
Edgewater Terrace and a portion of Lots 1, 2, 12 and 13, Section 17, Flour
Bluff and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, situated in the City of Corpus
Christi, Nueces County, Texas, more particularly described hereinafter, be
and the same is hereby changed from "R -1A" and "R -1B" One Family Dwelling
District to "A-1" Apartment House District:
All that certain tract or parcel of land situated
in Nueces County, Texas, and being all of Lots
Fifteen (15) through Twenty-two (22), both inclu-
sive, and"a part of Lot Twenty-three (23), all in
Block Three (3) of the Edgewater Terrace Addition
to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, all as exten-
ded by accretion, a part of Lot Twelve (12) in
Section Seventeen (17) of the Flour Bluff and
Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts as extended by accre-
tion, and a part of that certain tract of land paten-
ted to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, by Patent
No. 158, Volume 29-B dated June 11,-1959 and also
being a part of that certain tract of land, the title"
to which was awarded to Edwin Juelg in Cause Number
83003-B in the !]7th District Court of Nueces County,
Texas, entitled City of Corpus Christi vs. Edwin
Juelg et al on the 19th day of June, 1964, said
tract being more specifically described by metes
and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of Lot Fifteen (15)
in BLock Three (3) of the Edgewater Terrace Addition
to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; •
THENCE in a Southerly direction along and with the
East boundary line of said Lot Fifteen (15) and a
line being an extension of said East boundary line
to a point being the intersection of.said extended
line with a line being the northerly extension of
the East boundary line of Lot Twelve (12) in Sec-
tion Seventeen (17) of the Flour Bluff and Encinal
Farm and Garden Tracts of Nueces County, Texas;
'THFNCE North 87 degrees 16 minutes West a distance
of 385 feet;
THENCE South 31 degrees 37 minutes West to a point
on the North or Northeast boundary line of a shell
road lying along the Southwest boundary line of a
tract awarded to Edwin Juelg in Cause•Number 83003-B
in the 117th District Court of Nueces County, Texas,
on the 19th clay of June, 1964;
THENCE in a Northwesterly direction with the meanders
of the North or Northeast boundary line of said road
to a point where said line intersects the West bound-
ary line of that certain tract of land conveyed in
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas by that certain
Deecl dated October 27, 1942, recorded in Volume 299
at page 76 of the Deed Records of Nueces County, Texas;

THENCE North 18 degrees 10 minutes 15 seconds East
along the East boundary line of the City of Corpus
Christi tract to a point on the North boundary line
of Lot Twenty-three (23) of Block Three (3) of the
Edgewater Terrace Addition;
THENCE in an Easterly direction along the North
boundary line of Lots Twenty-three (23) through
Fifteen (15), both inclusive, of Block Three (3)
to the,point of beginning;
SECTION 3. That the official zoning map of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 4. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas, approved on the 27th day of August, 1937, as amended
from time to time, except as herein changed, shall remain in full force and
effect.
SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby expressly repealed;
SECTION 6. That the necessity of immediately making aforesaid
change for the purpose of maintaining at all times a comprehensive zoning
ordinance for the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an
imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduc-
tion and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency
and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule
and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /7 day of (

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
