AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.,,14795, PASSED AND APPROVED ON
FEBRUARY 28,1979 BY -AMENDING SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDI;
NANCE SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL AND
ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS
ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS:
Washington Coles Area ,
1. Sam Rankin, Street from Martin Luther King Drive to '
West Broadway Boulevard;
2. Winnebago Street from Sam Rankin Street to Brownlee
- Boulevard and from North Staples to I.H. 37 Frontage
Road;
3. Lake' Street from Sam Rankin Street to T.C. Ayers Park;
4. Ramirez Street from North Alameda Street to Waco Street;
5. Waco Street from Winnebago Street to Martin Luther King
Drive;
AS HEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1:a; That Ordinance No. 14795, passed and approved on
February 28, 1979, b'e amended so as to amend Section 3 of said ordinance so
as to adopt the final; assessment roll and assessments levied against abutting
property owners,on the.following streets:

Washington Coles Area
1. Sam'Rankin,Street from Martin Luther King Drive to
West'Broadway Boulevard;
2.: W'i nn'ebago" Street from Sam Rankin Street to Brownlee
Boulevard and from North Staples.to I.H. 37 Frontage

SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment roll
as herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public neces-
sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such

ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity
exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this
ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED this the 2/ day of November, 1979.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
