APPROPRIATING AND REAPPROPRIATING OUT OF THE NO. 141 WATER
FUND, ACTIVITY 5171, CODE 502, $48,752.50 FOR PAYMENT TO
PENDARIS CORPORATION FOR THE CITY'S SHARE OF AN OFF-SITE
WATER MAIN FROM WOOD RIVER SUBDIVISION, UNIT I, WITH PAY-
MENT TO BE MADE FOR 10 FEET PER LOT AFTER THE UNIT OF THE
SUBDIVISION IS ANNEXED AND FIFTY PERCENT OF THE LOTS ARE
CONNECTED TO THE WATER SYSTEM, ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH A
CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AND PENDARIS
CORPORATION APPROVED BY ORDINANCE NO. 14314, PASSED ON
MAY 10, 1978; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated and reappropriated
out of the No. 141 Water Fund, Activity 5171, Code 502, $48,752.50 for payment
to Pendaris Corporation for the City's share of an off-site water main from
Wood River Subdivision, Unit I, with payment to be made for 10 feet per lot
after the unit of the subdivision is annexed and fifty percent of the lots
are connected to the water system, all in accordance with a contract between
the City of Corpus Christi and Pendaris Corporation approved by Ordinance
No. 14314, passed on May 10, 1978.
SECTION 2. The necessity to provide adequate funds for the City's
share of an off-site water main as hereinabove set out at the earliest prac-
ticable date creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally,on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
