HomeMy WebLinkAbout15249 ORD - 12/05/1979AN ORDINANCE AUTHIORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO THE CONTRACT WITH ISLES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR INSTALLA- TION OF THE CALALLEN SANITARY SEWER 34-B, SECTION 2, PRO- VIDING FOR ADDITIONS, EXTENSIONS AND A DEEP CROSSING OF THE SEWER LINE, A SUBSTANTIAL COPY OF SAID CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 BEING ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF, MARKED EXHIBIT "A"; APPROPRIATING $4,475 OUT OF THE NO. 250 SANITARY SEWER BOND FUND FOR SAID CHANGE ORDER APPLICABLE TO PROJECT NO. 250-77-12.2, CALALLEN INTERCEPTOR SEWER 34B, SECTION 2; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be authorized to execute Change Order No. 1.to the contract with Isles Construction Company for installation of the Calallen Sanitary Sewer 34-B, Section 2, providing for additions, ----'extensions and a deep crossing of the sewer line, all as more fully set forth in the change order, a substantial copy of which is attached hereto and made 9 a part hereof, marked Exhibit "A". 'SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $4,475 out of the No. 250 Sanitary Sewer Bond Fund for the aforesaid change order, applicable to Project No. 250-77-12.2, Calallen Interceptor Sewer 34B, Section 2. SECTION 3. The necessity to authorize execution of the aforesaid Change Order No. 1 at'the earliest practicable date and to appropriate the sums necessary to complete the construction set forth therein creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the sus- pension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the day of December, 1979. Install 60 1.f. of 8" E.S.V.C. pipe across Hearn Road complete with crushed stone embedment; backfill across Hearn Road with select material and compact and open to traffic as soon as possible; patch Hearn Road pavement with caliche and hot mix; remove and replace existing fire hydrant if necessary.
