HomeMy WebLinkAbout15259 ORD - 12/12/1979jkh:12-12-79;2nd AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3658, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING SECTION 250 CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR ALL POSITIONS IN THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE BY ESTABLISHING CERTAIN POSITION TITLES, CODES AND CLASS GRADES; PROVIDING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 3658, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended by amending Section 250, Classification Plan for All Positions in the Classified Service, by amending Subsection 251 to provide for the following position: Class Code 167 GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND CLERICAL Class Title Personnel Technician III Class Grade 18 and by amending Subsection 255, Health and Recreation, by adding the following position: Class Code 515 Class Title Lifeguard -Instructor Class Grade 7 SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose. SECTION 3. The necessity to maintain at all times an efficient administration of City affairs creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of i,U$ introduction but 1VI1CRV�. f`II • AUuuoJ114 15259 that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the /,P..._/ day of December, 1979.
