AN ORDINANCE
CLOSING A PORTION OF SNOWGOOSE ROAD, MORE FULLY DESCRIBED
HEREINAFTER, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, notice of the time and place for holding a hearing con-
cerning the closing of a portion of Snowgoose Road, situated in the City of
Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, was given by publication and mail to the
last known address of the owners of property abutting said street and within
450 feet of the area to be closed and thereafter, pursuant to said notice,
public hearing was held at Regular Council Meeting of the City Council of the
City of Corpus Christi on Wednesday, December 19, 1979, in accordance with the
provisions of the City Charter; and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the City Council after such hearing
that it would best serve the public convenience and necessity to close the
portion of Snowgoose Road more fully described hereinafter and that the same
revert to the abutting property owners:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following described portion of Snowgoose Road,
situated in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, be and the same
is hereby closed for public use and abandoned to the abutting property owners:
Being a portion of Snowgoose Road (County Road No. 26A)
out of Lots 11, 12, 21 and 22, Section 5, Flour Bluff
and Encinal Farm and Garden Tracts, a map of which is
recorded in Volume A, pages 41, 42, 43, Map Records of
Nueces County, Texas:
BEGINNING at a point on the Northwest boundary line of said
Lot 12 for the North corner of this tract from which corner
the West corner of said Lot 12 same being the North corner
of said Lot 21 bears South 29°01'00" West 20.00 feet;
THENCE South 61°00'45" East, along the existing Northeast
right-of-way line of Snowgoose Road, 827.85 feet for the
East corner of this tract;
THENCE in a southwesterly direction along a circular curve
to the left whose radius point bears South 15°42'23" West
374.06 feet and has a central angle of 09°43'08", a radius
of 374.06 feet, a tangent distance of 31.08 feet, 63.45 feet
to the point of tangency;
THENCE North 84°00'45" West 51.87 feet to a point on the South-
west right-of-way line of Snowgoose Road for the South corner
of this tract:
THENCE North 61°00'45" West, with said aforementioned right-of-
way, 719.90 feet to a point on the Northwest boundary line of
said Lot 21 for the West corner of this tract;

THENCE North 29°01'00" East, along the aforementioned
Northwest boundary line, at 20.00 feet pass the North
corner of said Lot 21 same being the West corner of
said Lot 12, in all a distance of 40.00 feet to the
POINT OF BEGINNING.
SECTION 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision,
clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall'
not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or
provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council
that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision
hereof be given full.force and effect for its purpose.
SECTION 3. The fact that the public convenience and necessity
would be better served by the closing of the herinabove described portions of
Snowgoose Road creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the•suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, and having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, this the
26th day of December, 1979.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
