AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 15299, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL ON JANUARY 9, 1980, AS AMENDED, BY AMENDING
SECTION 3 OF SAID ORDINANCE SO AS TO ADOPT THE FINAL
ASSESSMENT ROLL AND ASSESSMENTS LEVIED AGAINST ABUTTING
PROPERTY OWNERS FOR IMPROVEMENTS ON THE FOLLOWING STREETS:
Broadmoor Park Area
1. Niagara, Sarita, and Cleo Streets, from Baldwin
Boulevard to South Port Avenue,
2. Sonora Street, from South Port Avenue to David
Street,
3. McDaniel Street, from Sarita Street to David
Street,
4. Shely Street, from Niagara Street to David Street
AS HEREIN PROVIDED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 15299, passed and approved by the City
Council on January 9, 1980, as amended, be amended by amending Section 3 of
said ordinance so as to adopt the final assessment roll and assessments levied
against abutting property owners for improvements on the following streets:
Broadmoor Park Area
1. Niagara, Sarita, and Cleo Streets, from Baldwin
Boulevard to South Port Avenue, -
2. Sonora Street, from South Port Avenue to David
Street,
3. McDaniel Street, from Sarita Street to David
Street,
4. Shely Street, from Niagara Street to David Street
as more fully described in the corrected and adjusted assessment roll, a sub-
stantial copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A", and made a part
hereof.
SECTION 2. The necessity to immediately amend the assessment roll as
herein set forth creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction but that such ordinance
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and
the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, having
requested the suspension of the Charter rule and that this ordinance take effect

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a
public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter
rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on
the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, request that you suspend
said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL
BROADMOOR PARK AREA
STREET IMPROVEMENTS
NOVEMBER 19, 1980
The Broadmoor Park Area Street Improvements shall include improvements to the
following streets:
1. Niagara, Sarita, and Cleo Streets, from Baldwin Boulevard to South
Port Avenue,
2. Sonora Street, from South Port Avenue to David Street,
3. McDaniel Street, from Sarita Street to David Street,
4. Shely Street, from Niagara Street to David Street.
These streets shall be constructed by excavation to a width and depth to permit the: ,t
laying of a standard curb and gutter section, 6" compacted subgrade, 8" compacted.
caliche base and 11/2" Type "D" Hot Mix Asphaltic pavement. Streets will be 28' wide 1
within the existing right-of-way. There will be 4' wide reinforced sidewalks 4"•
thick and 6" thick reinforced concrete driveways as shown on the plans and where
requested by the property owner.
The assessment rates have been calculated in accordance with the latest paving policy
adopted by the City. Based on this policy and the low bid price submitted by APCCO,
the assessment rates are as follows:
Commercial Properties
28' Wide Street, BOC
_4" Curb, Gutter & Pavement
6" Curb, Gutter & Pavement
Sidewalks (Bid price, $2.18 per S.F.)
Driveways
RESIDENTIAL, SCHOOL & CHURCHES

Sidewalks $ .75 per S.F.
Driveways $ 3.09 per S.F.
